Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Austin, Texas, State of Safe (S.O.S.) is a full-spectrum security and emergency management firm committed to raising the standard of public safety and private security throughout the state. S.O.S. was established with the mission of delivering proactive, prevention-focused safety solutions that protect people, property, and communities. The company is led by Kalin Adams, a security professional and entrepreneur with a strong academic foundation and extensive operational experience in public safety and emergency management. Kalin holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Texas State University and a Master of Science in Homeland Security from Sam Houston State University. A certified remote pilot and licensed security specialist, he has supported response efforts for multiple natural disasters across Texas. Guided by real-world experience and a commitment to responsible security practices, Kalin founded State of Safe to make safety a strategic tool for prevention—not merely a reaction to risk.

Our firearms training division is led by highly qualified instructors with extensive backgrounds in professional security and defensive operations. Director of Operations

Kalin Adams is the Founder and Director of Operations of State of Safe, where he leads the organization’s strategic vision and operational excellence. Kalin is committed to ensuring that State of Safe fulfills its promise of delivering effective, responsible security solutions that enhance both private security and public safety.

Security Professional

With a military background and over 10 years of experience in private security across retail environments, healthcare facilities, and residential communities, Kalin brings a proven track record of leadership and operational expertise to every security challenge he undertakes.

Emergency Manager

Kalin has dedicated his career to enhancing emergency preparedness and response across diverse environments. His experience includes establishing an effective Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) in Houston during Hurricane Harvey, leading a team of student emergency management workers at Texas State University, interning with the Bastrop County Office of Emergency Management, and ultimately founding State of Safe to advance security and safety statewide.
